Synopsis

The film’s director KIM Saebom, the daughter of Small Bird and Mr. Pig, decides to open an exhibition for the two of them and goes to Busan, where they live. As she records their daily life and artistic activities, she learns about their lost dreams, hopes and their love. (by DMZ Docs)

작은새와 돼지씨의 딸이자 이 영화의 감독인 김새봄은 두 사람의 전시를 열어주기로 하고 그들이 사는 부산으로 향한다. 김새봄은 두 사람의 일상과 예술 행위를 기록하며 두 사람의 잃어버렸던 꿈과 희망, 그리고 그들의 사랑에 대해 알아가게 된다.

Director's Statement

“Small Bird” Kim Choonna is my mother. After quitting the 24-hour supermarket, she is currently taking many classes at the Busan municipal library. She has been in calligraphy for nearly 20 years, and is currently working on contemporary art. She has been good at painting and writing since she was young. She's a meticulous person, but has a girlish and cute side. “Mr. Pig” Kim Jongseok is my father. After quitting the 24-hour supermarket, he works now as a security guard in an apartment in Cho-eup, Busan. He enjoys standing in front of people, dancing and singing. He is loud and funny, but emotional and soulful. He has been writing poems constantly. Kim Sae-bom, the daughter who is a filmmaker, finally sends a special reply that has started as a love letter between Small Bird and Mr. Pig.

나의 엄마이자 작은새인 김춘나는 남편 김종석과 슈퍼마켓을 운영하다 그만두고 현재 시민도서관에서 하는 많은 강좌를 듣고 있다. 어릴 적부터 그림과 글씨에 소질이 있었고, 꼼꼼한 성격에 소녀 같은 면이 있으며, 20년 전 서예를 시작해서 현재는 수채화, 현대예술에 매진 중이다. 나의 아빠이자 돼지씨 김종석은 오랫동안 운영해 온 슈퍼마켓을 그만둔 후 부산 초읍에 있는 아파트에서 경비원을 하고 있다. 김종석은 사람들 앞에서 나서서 춤추고 노래하고 흥을 돋우는 것을 즐기고 목소리는 크고 호탕하지만, 눈물도 많고 감성적인 성격에 틈틈이 시를 써 왔다. 이 영화는 그림을 그리는 작은새 김춘나와 시를 쓰는 돼지씨 김종석의 연애편지로 시작하여 영화를 만드는 딸 김새봄이 이들에게 보내는 애틋하고 특별한 답장이 될 것이다.
